Tips and tricks. Pay attention to these:

  • Use crisp cookies. You can crush them by hand, breaking them one or more at a time. I usually lay a few biscuits on a wooden cutting board and roll several times with a wooden rolling pin. This way the cookies are shredded much faster, they look like flour.
  • Roast the peanuts in the oven and lightly salt or buy the roasted and salted ones. Also, lightly crush them by rolling them.
  • Melt the butter over a low heat, and never allow it to boil or sparkle.

  • You can whip the caramelized sweetened condensed milk into the melted butter.
  • You can put prepared mass into a cake shape or any other shape. If you don’t want a custom look, put it in a plastic bag or food wrap and form it to the shape you want.
  • It is important to compress the mass well so that no air gaps are left, if the shape allows, hide (with a heavy object on top). Leave it at least a few hours, preferably overnight in a cool place.

How to make these Salted Caramel Cookie Bars?

The main ingredient in these Cookie Bars ar… Cookies! We usually use them already made, bought in the supermarkets. The ones that are squared are the perfect ones. So, if you want to make this desserts, first of all you have to crumble or break the caramel biscuits into pieces of about 1 square centimeter (you can use a rolling pin).

Repeat that with roasted and salted peanuts. Save some for serving. I have to admit, I am not a fan of peanuts, and traditionally we have not used them very much, but in this dessert they are just perfect!
